![]() Anyone fish in the area of Riviera Maya?
I'm going for a week in July with my adult kids and want to do some skinny water fishing with them. I'd also like to fish offshore one day with my son. Any recommendations and contact information would be appreciated. Thanks Capt Brian |

![]() I can tell you that surf fishing is tough in most of that area. I would ask your resort concierge to recommend a local charter.

![]() I was in that area last May and hit Captain Ricks fleet for some Tuna and Mahi.
Good setup they have and most fish for 1/2 day troll. They don't go far out since the water gets deep just offshore...we trolled from 1/2 mile - 7 miles out I think! They may have a full day troll that goes further offshore as well. They offer a shuttle but stick with a cab or you may hit a ton of hotels on your way there or home. Cab ride was not expensive at all. The boats are no frills and they trolled ballyhoo (shirted and naked) the whole time. We did catch some...but were a day out of a tropical storm so seas were sketchy. I would def go back. The owner is American and plenty of English speaking staff and many little shops, restaurants in Puerto Aventuras. Its hard to explain but its a town/resort area with many things to do. You fam can actually swinm with sea life there while you go out fishing and then hit a restaurant together when you dock again. Depending on which resort you stay at most will have Panga boats for 1/2 day charter too. Google it if you don't know what they are....warning you WILL get wet! We did a charter and in the middle stopped to snorkel a reef and then back on the troll for mahi. Those boats are cheaper then Captain Ricks. http://www.captricksfishing.com/inde...-fish-with-us/ |
