The shad fishing has been nothing short of spectacular for the last week in the Delaware. High hooks of 40 or more have been common to a lot of fisherman. It will only get better as these fish run all the way through May. The shad fishing contest is still looking for fisherman to join the fun and try their luck for some cool cash prizes. Fishermen, don't be convinced that this is only a local contest. With the weigh station in the central location of Phillipsburg it is at most an 1 hour drive from either direction on the river.
