You picked the right time to get back into the mix Bass....The Stripers have really come on strong in the past few days.

Most people are jigging metal and working the birds and some using poppers. If the boat traffic pushes the bait down they are for the most part switching over to trolling Umbrella rigs and some guys using Bunker spoons or drifting eels.

Most of the better fishing was up north in the Sandy Hook area on the outside until recently. It seems that the fish have now started to move south along the Mo Co beaches too.

Good to see that, this way the fleet can spread out a bit rather than everyone and their brother working the same patch of fish off Sandy Hook.

It should be game on over the next few weeks and I'm hoping they stick around well in December.

Cant really comment on where to surf fish but maybe some of the other surf guys will see this post and chime in or PM you...

If boat fishing is any indication of where the best surf fishing would be best, I would think Shark River and north. I alos think you'd be better off with artificials then clam right now too...The fish are keying on sand eels so try and match the hatch... Pencil Poppers, Needlefish etc.

Caught them like crazy today, jigging on a boat, a half mile from the Manasquan inlet.

Try to make the 125 Jamaica Friday 6 am trip. Early they are getting some fish on poppers, which is really cool to watch them hit, then they are getting them on Ava 27 to 47 and Spoons. If it gets too chilly for you the cabin is nice and warm to get ready to get back into the action.
I'm torn between Hunting or Fishing this weekend or I may Hunt just Saturday and fish the others.
Best of luck to you, the bass are here, it's time to get em'
