Default renting a boat at bhars marina

hi guys,

So I usually do a lot of surf fishing for stripers, fluke and usually jump on a party boat or charter. But Saturday was looking to rent a 18 foot center console out of Bhars Marina with a couple friends who don't do much fishing. Only good spots I know are past the boundaries we are allowed to the boat. the boundary is the imaginary line from the tip of the naval pier to the Sandy hook point. Was looking to get into preferably fluke but will settle for blues..

thanks in advance

danny

Danny - this time of year the river and the bay warm up and the fish tend to move out. With those boundaries your fishing is going to be very limited.

There is a deeper hole off of Windandsea you might try and the area between the bug light and 1 can but I would not count on much. If you don't have a depth finder to find and work these areas, that is another thing working against you.

Hey Dan

I'll look for a rudimentary diagram that I made for someone else years ago...there are plenty of fish available in the zone that you're confined to-maybe not what you desire but plenty of fish

I actually do have a portable depth and fish finder I will be taking with me.. I might take the chance and take a couple drifts by the 1 can..

Think you need a boaters operators safty certificate to rent? Not sure. You might look into an open boat six pack.

With rentals they do a temp safety cert. I think it's good for 24hrs. I know that's how it works for the rental boats at Browns Point Marina.
