Default Trying Time

I have been doing real well for a while but the past week has been a struggling time. I guess it must be the post spawning time and bass are scattered all over? My guess is that there are a few smaller bass near the shore but I presume big ones are in the deep water? I would love to bring a boat or use a kayak but the reservoir only allows shore fishing. Any suggestion, bass masters?

.

Did you remember to bring your trademark dot gloves?

Maybe the gloves are the key to your fishing super powers, like Green Lantern's ring or Captain America's shield!

Personally, I'm going to make more of an emphasis to fish early, late, and on low pressure days.

"The" reservoir only allows shore fishing??? So go to different places that allow boats and Kayaks or better shore access/smaller waters/ponds and such!

Also try the rivers for smallies and LM....it's tough with the rain recently but it's that time now.

I think the bass have already moved into their summer patterns by now. This past weekend I had decent success working weedless lures over pads and tight to flooded brush. The easy pickings on finesse worms seems to have died down a lot. I agree with Andrew that fishing at dawn and dusk will definitely up your odds. In the heat of the day bass will normally either be in deep water or buried deep in vegetation.

Would have to agree with the two previous posts, not too good during the day but nighttime has been "The Right Time" for me been that way for over a month fish during the day and you'd swear there ain't a fish in the lake but after dark it's been on fire!!! Basically been fishing spinnerbaits almost exclusively. Depending on the conditions either Colorado when it's a little breeze and current or willow when it's calm and still. Had twelve on Friday night and a slow night last night fished about two and a half hours and had five. My son fished same lake same spots during the day and didn't have a bite. Need to change your approach and modify your lure selection and you will catch fish. Been skunked only once so far this year. Lakes are changing very quickly temps, water level, weed growth etc. Gotta think like a bass !!!

Thank you for all the advice. I guess I need to be out there early in the morning and try deep slow fishing.

Wink Re: Trying Time

Get yourself a used yak on craigs list for $300-$400. Your entire
world will open up to more and bigger consistent catches no matter
what the temps are.

Shoot me a pm...there are a multitude of lakes and reservoirs just in Bergen, Rockland/Orange and Passaic. Would be happy to introduce you to any one of them.

My problem is always deciding which one to go to! We call that a quality problem.
