Default Shimano 8000D Baitrunner Reels ?

Purchsed 5 8000D Baitrunner reels about 18 months ago. Of the 5, 2 devolped problems with the bearing in the crank handle. 1st was replaced because it also had gear problems and was on a list of defective items. 2ed I had to pay $39. for replacement handle. Was wondering if others have had problems with this reel. Seems odd that I got 2 out of 5 with bad handles and that no one else has had problems. Needless to say at this point I'm am not too happy with the product or the costumer service.

I do have one but have not fished it as much as I planned. No problems yet. Must say that I like my 4500 older model better!

I also have the older 4500 and 6500 's . I really like them more . I believe all of those extra bearings drove the price up but didn't make the reel any better. While cleaning all newer reels with lots of bearings after a day on the water do not wash with a hose or soap at the dock and avoid lots of saltwater spray on the boat. Many times this is where the bearings get beat up with water pressure driving grit into them and soaps breaking down lubricants.

Do you think the Penn Spinfisher V would be a good substitute?
