Default Sunday on the prowler.

I know, I know..... I said I was heading to cape may, however as I was pulling out of the drive way, the capt sent an email canceling the charter with no explanation or phone call, poor business sense as far as I am concerned. So we moved to plan B, a day on the prowler.

Got to the boat early to take up the stern for the nine of us who were supposed to be down south. The boat ended up with a nice crowd and off we went. After a quick ride it was lines in. A lot of life and some quick shorts. I thought we were gonna be blessed with a good day, but for me it was down hill. Capt Glenn kept us on good bottom all day but I could only catch shorts. After a long day of dehooking last years models I finally found a 15 inch fish. Others were able to scratch together a catch, but I shot my load on that one fish.

Lots of laughs with Gerry z, Joey da fish and their crew. We made the best of a disappointing situation. Can't say enough about how we were treated by the crew of the prowler! Rob, as always, thanks for everything!

Cudos to Capt and crew of the prowler they managed to keep us on the fish pretty much all day. I only caught shorts and the bottom. But the boat managed a good bite all day. The mates were helpful and professional as was the Captain. Thanks for a great day

Fun day although a party boat with a good size crowd was not what we were expecting, I can't think of a logical reason a charter would cancel on us at the 11th hour offering no explanation. Maybe there is a good reason??? I am glad I found out about them now before booking our group trips for next fall.

The prowler is a fast boat and the filets were expertly cleaned. Nice job by them, I am adding them as a boat on my list.

Looked like the whole boat had one to three keepers, times that by the number of guys on the boat and their was a lot of meat hitting the deck.............

Oh yeah,

Drum roll please......................

I COULD'VE BEEN ON THE MIMI

By the way, the family enjoyed having the extra filets Gerry

Not taking away from the prowler, great boat. If that ever happened again, cape may has a GREAT party boat as soon as you pull in on the left, with a great capt Paul. I have had my Best tog days out with him, as well as fluke, he really knows how to take care of his fares. Also it's a nice big boat, fishing wrecks that are hardly fished. Check it out next time your down there.

I had a great time yesterday. Lots of laugh and good fishing. Thanks for the invite again, Gerry. The crew of the Prowler are top notch.

As anyone seen a report from Down Deep yesterday? Just curious to see how they did

I heard that they had a boat limit of blackfish up to 17 lbs. There were 5 fish caught over 10 lbs. Just kidding

Great day on the Prowler for sure.... Pretty consistent action for me in the stern... Must have had a dozen or so throw backs and 3 keepers, one of which was good enough to take the pool we had going within our own group.

Mates were spot on, Captain kept us on the rough stuff all day and as usuall my brother Joe was breaking off rigs all day The fishing was only surpased by the company and the great weather we had... Can beat fishing in Jan in a sweatshirt.

Bailed out seemed to be in every tangle we had and we rode him like a broken bike. At one point I saw him on his smart phone and asked "what are you doing changing you status on Facebook to tangled"

I also heard back from Captain Mario on the Down Deep. As some of you might have known, we had this boat booked for a Blackfish trip down in Cape May this past Sunday and he contacted me on Sat to cancel it. Apparently someone on this staff was to have taken care of the getting the bow pulpit rigged for 2 anchors and Mario found out at the last minute this had not been taken care of. Rather then try and take us out and make due with one anchor, he thought it best to cancel the trip. He figured it was better to disapoint us on land rather then at sea. Right call and he totally understands how disapointed we were and appologizes for the issue and wants to make good on it. Also the person who dropped the ball is no longer on his staff.

For those of you who were booked on this trip, Mario offered to reschedule the trip and all we need to pay is $300 to cover the Captain and mate. I will be getting back to you guys to try and coordinate a new date.
