![]() Hi all, New here,,
I am a salt water guy haven't fished freshwater for 20 years but now live within a minute of the Passaic in this area. Is the small park in Elmwood Park really fishable ? Also access to the river from there to down towards the damn? I am looking to fish for carp, catfish, bass, pike or whatever is fishable. Baits and or plugs, jigs recommended in this area for the above species? Thanks Tony |

![]() Look for the posts by msgdan. Gives a whole meaning on local water. He slams the pike and pickeral pretty good when he is not chasing stripers down the shore.

I really haven't spent that many hours in the areas mentioned, but when I did, I have landed a bunch of pike, a good amount of LMB and even one small tiger muskie (about 4 years ago). Of course, the slow moving water around the bridges has had the best results for pike, and either a white or a chartruse 1/2 oz. spinner bait has been the lure of choice for me. I have never fished for carp in that area, but there are some huge fish in that area. Good luck and tight lines!! Danny V |
