![]() So my buddy and I are thinking about hitting up the big lake for a few days but have never been there before. We're thinking about going up in June or July. We'll be bringing his bass boat up with us. If anyone can offer any kind of recommended sleeping accomodations, fishing areas, or any info at all, it would be greatly appreciated!!!

![]() I go at the end of June and always do well. Launch out of Ticonderoga; there are plenty of hotels there, but you have to book early because they fill up with tourists and tournament fishermen. I usually fish from Ticonderoga north to Crown Point, that section of the lake is LOADED with largemouths!
It seems like every time I go up there, a different lure is the hot choice. In the past it's been everything from topwaters to senkos. Check out my Youtube channel for some videos on fishing Champlain, it might give you a jumping off point. http://www.youtube.com/user/MrLardAlmighty/videos Best of luck, you should have a blast!

![]() Good to hear Lard, although I think we might try to focus on the smallmouths a little more. But I guess we will make that decision when we start getting a better idea of where we're launching from and how far of a boat ride we're looking at. We've heard of the grasses and pads towards the south, and the more rocky/hump sections of the north.

![]() Ok, so a few friends and I booked the a week in the beginning of june on Champlain, in the North Hero section. It's in the bay area between the two main branches in the north section. We've been told by a few people that sometimes people never even need to leave the bay.

![]() I went to Champlain about 5 years ago and had the time of my life...my buddy, his dad and friend all went up to the northern most section on the lake...It was Mississquoi bay area in west swanton...we stayed at "Cambell's Bay" which is about 10 fishing cabins located right on the lake...small cabins with 2 rooms...nice and rustic but totally awesome...the fishing was incredible for pike, bass, perch, bullheads...one of the best fishing weeks of my life...my buddy's dad boated a beautiful 39 inch pike and we must have had well over 100 pike total for the week...i also went home with bags full of the most delicious bullhead fillets to snack on for the rest of the summer...
