Default Raritan river, skunk

Ran all over today, wanted to fish some places haven't been before, guess the weather was just too nice. First hit the falls by the water plant, then Nevius street, holes below the bridge and a little off the dam, not a touch for me, one guy on the dam was catching some little stuff mostly sunies. Interesting there was a guy there netting Lamprys he had three told me he was going to eat them. Saw some huge suckers.
Next went to park near 287, fished behind the broken dam and below 287 bridge not a touch,
then headed to Johnson park, tried a little under landing lane bridge. Nothing again. Saw a few guys here and there, no one with a fish.
Water was pretty clear at all locations, except at landing lane where it was high tide, up over the bridge pillings.

Anyhow, no fish but nice afternoon out, fished from about 1-6:30 PM

Good to get out and bounce around, some of those spots you really need to spend a little time to key in on the fish.
I talked to a guy in South Bound Brook this spring and he said one of the shad he caught had a lamprey on it, as far as eating them......well. (maybe Jmurr can help here)
I know my guide in PA/NY rakes lamprey larvae from the mud and sand for deadly walleye bait.
I was just above you at Roberts St. for a bit today.
Just curious what lures and or bait you were thrownig today?

No bait, lures, some popper's small red and white, a few surface lures with spinner blades, a few spinners, some jig heads, red and white, twisters in silver, light green, white, also tried a sabuki rig with a sasy shad,
Nota touch.
