![]() Went carping in 64 degrees Colonial Lake this evening on a warm, sunny day with a light west wind. Air temp was 70 degrees. Didn’t wear a jacket. Minnows were on the surface. Fish were swirling. Only saw one other fisherman catch nothing. Saw Canada geese, mallards, 2 grebes, crows, blackbirds, pigeons, and a beaver. Took pics. Threw out a can of corn for chum, then caught and released 10 bluegills, a golden shiner and a 23” 6.5 lb channel catfish with ShopRite canned whole kernel corn on a #4 long shank gold hook and 12 lb test line. Weather reports have below normal temperatures for the next week. Tomorrow may be my last fishing trip with corn.

![]() When the water gets cold, the fish stop biting on corn and my hands get too cold. I caught and released 49 bluegills with a single kernel of ShopRite canned corn on a #4 long shank gold hook and 12 lb test line in 56 degree Colonial Lake this evening. I got very cold 🥶.
