![]() Tough week for the Ol' D&R in South Bound Brook! First was the forced (pressurized) sewer main break on Friday of last week which was flowing right into the canal and had Exit 12 shutdown. To add insult to injury, this past Tuesday another break Just another spot in the area of the first.
Both dumping raw sewage into it. Running higher than normal so I would imagine the gates have been opened to "flush it out"! |

![]() Looked around for a news article on the spill, must be on the down low as I couldn't find much. Raw poo is never a good thing in the water.
If you find an article post up, I would like to see it. I remember hearing exit 12 was closed, but that was about all. Thanx for the heads up. |

![]() Yummy... On Wednesday there was a decent flow coming down the spillway on the canal just south of exit 12. To my recollect it's usually dry. Just thought it was cuz the rain.
That poop lure is too funny though. ![]() |

![]() If the poo keeps flowing downstream, the area around Raritan might have to be called the " Dookie" Island stretch.

![]() it's sad, but by the time it reaches the bay hardly out of the ordinary unfortunately.
happens pretty much any time it rains hard with all the combined sewer/storm water systems discharging directly to the waterways. it's why down the shore after a good rain the coliform counts go up. take a look at the map of all the NJ CSOs dumping turds... about 95% of them end up in raritan bay http://arcg.is/1DBBruT
