I did Living on Island Time in Hypoluxo https://fishingonislandtime.com/ which is right next to Southern Comfort https://southerncomfort4charters.com/
I was told the best bet was to do Southern Comfort if it wasn't chartered, but it was that day. Still had a nice day and it was interesting catching different fish that I would in NJ. Unfortunately most of the boats in that area only did 4-hour trips, I would've liked a longer outing.

There are plenty of boats down there (and closer ones to Ft. Lauderdale, but I was visiting in Delray Beach and these were recommended). I've found the term "Party Boat" to be a Northeast term, where a google search for "Head Boat" or "Drift Boat" might produce more what you're looking for.

The Sea Legs party boat in Hollywood which isn't far from where your staying is one of the best party boats to fish in that area. It was newly redone with satellite TV, air conditioning, clean new bathrooms.
They drift fish in the day time and anchor at night. The night trips are my favorite if you like wreck fishing. There is a great mate on the boat from NJ also who has lent me his rod a few times when we were into bugger fish. I have fished this boat for 15 years and it is by far the best.
