Default Redeemer Sportfishing - Recommendations on trolling the HRT Polish Shads

Been fielding a lot of questions regarding the best method to trolling the imported polish shads from HRT. We found unlike trolling the Stretches the shads produce better trolled way back, 100-150 yards in the clean water free of the prop wash. We use 60 pound floro leader and 50-65 pound braid. Side riggers also help to spread and reduce cross overs. Best speed is 4-4.5 knots. We only troll 2 at a time. The middle hook has intentionally been removed to reduce mortality and create more movement of the lure. Hope this helps. Tight lines. Capt. Mike

The lures are available thru our website or at Capt. Bills Landing, 49 Inlet Drive, Point Pleasant Beach, NJ 08742.

Open boat Stripers this Friday, June 9th, 6am. Call or text to reserve, 732-580-6910.

My pleasure. We have been using these lures for 12 years with good results. Nothing against any other lures or spoons. When the bunker are in these obviously match the hatch perfectly and on light tackle it's fun. Good luck. Capt. Mike

Good eye BTK, the lip snapped off due to head shakes on the deck. The lips are replaceable. Here is a shot with an intact lip.

Which do you find yourself using more, the shallow or deep-divers?

Shallow to be honest. The divers tell me the bottom temps are still in the upper 40's down deep so I have been doing better with the top waters. Hopefully summer begins soon.

They should, they are hand painted, epoxy clear coated, tank and field tested. We had them add the gill dot, remove the center hook, add thru wire construction and 3X strong VMC treble hooks. They are available in 3 different colors, top water or deep diver versions. They cast well also.
