Fish Monger 12-3

got a last minute call from Captain Jerry wth an offer to jump aboard with m boobear Sportfishingusa for a day off togging, apparently some folk got scared of the west wind.

we left the dock at 6:15am & were fishing by 7. Morning bite was very very good with bites all around i had a limit by 9 & Vinnie a limit by 10, Charter was a group of first time toggers & i was very proud of em as they held there own catching togs. around 11 oclock someone musta opened the kennel as the dogfish were relentless. they were hitting bats before they hit the bottom. we must of caught over 100 dogfish. Jerry moved inshore & the action was not what it was in deeper water at all. A scratch here scratch there,a flurry of 2 or 3 fish but it went from savage to sandpaper massage!

jerry & john gave it there all & we were able to continue to scratch out some fish here & there. We ended with 53 keepers for 9 guys & considering reports from other boats & the bite ding I think we did pretty damn good. I was #hh with11 keepers #orl, vinnie had 9 #orl, bigfish was close to 9lbs for the day biggest i had was maybe 6. whites worked well but i also caught on greens & spiders. The dogfish ate anything. only thing that didnt work was my new tog jig set up in 30knot winds. Cannot thank John & Jerry enough for the long grind day, Jerry tried so hard for number 54 i thought he was gonna stroke out, We did not dock until after 5:00pm! Looks like some weather coming next week so get out while you can!

Is that a Purple MXL? I thought I was the only one on this board that had one of those! lol That new Monger boat is nice, maybe I'll get to go on it next year.
