![]() Need a recommendation for a good quality reel that will be used for trolling with braid. Primarily will be used in Raritan Bay, Between The Channels and out front for bass. To be used to pull spoons, plugs, mojos and maybe shad/tube rigs.
Thinking of the Shimano Tekota 600 (maybe even the line counter version). Suggestions ? |

![]() I've been using an Avet LX. I really like the lever drag for trolling. You set the lever drag light enough so line is not coming off the reel when trolling and when you get a pick up, move it up to strike and fight the fish on the preset drag.
You cant do this with a star drag reel. You could probably get away with an Avet MX and use the same reel for other purposes too.
