Default Good few hours in the Manasquan river

Hey all,

Quick report, my friends and I woke up a bit late and missed the half day fluke trip... No loss as it was pretty gusty. Anyways hit a secluded spot on the river by foot with two buddies who have no idea to fish. Fishing was amazing, caught between us over 60 shorts in 4 hours with 3 keepers. There was a point where I caught a short 13 casts in a row. Anyways best bay fluking I've ever had action wise. Bucktail with killie and a 3" gulp teaser was key, dead sticking did nada.

Have a great Labor Day.

Fishing has been great for 2 weeks in the river. There has been a terriffic amount of bait, particularly spearing like I haven't seen there . Hope they hang around.

Yep gulp has been out fishing bait, especially bait that sores from constant refreezing after each trip

The river is choked with small spearing, among other baitfish. I caught two small black drum in my net yesterday both about 6 in long! not the first time this year either. This is shaping up to be a great bait season, hope they get bigger before the move out!

Put the net on some nice 4 to 6 inch spearing at the dock after Fluking Monday. It's time to stock up for next year Boys!

So you know, Gulp does not have to be frozen or even refrigerated, It says it on the package. Also, try the Gulp Chum Bucket for schooling critters it really works good, Yesterday I had so many porgys under my boat it was scary
