Default Fish and game violations and fines...

Interesting to read through. I think some of these should a much bigger fine. For example you throw a gum wrapper on state lands its $71 but if you kill a bass out of season its only $40? I think killing of any fish out of season or undersized or over limits should be $100 minimum.

Spitting fine is the same as nudity. lol

The fines seem so arbitrary.

I was under the impression that impersonating a police officer was a felony, but according to that list, impersonating a Conservation Officer is only a $71 fine.
I'm going to put on a pair of green pants and shirt and scare the crap out of some bucket-sitters!

Poaching bass and trout is only $40.
I'm not surprised. The fines, just like bass regulations in New Jersey in general, are completely obsolete. They probably set that $40 fine back in 1963 when that was a significant fine. Now it's a joke.

Anybody know where I can get uniform pants with the stripes down the side?

I agree all the $40 fines are a joke, especially the undersize / over limit ones... they should be at least $250.

Possession of uncased firearm in a motor vehicle - $71 I suppose if a C/O fines you... if it is a "normal" police officer, it's a felony in most cases... And if it's loaded and in the vehicle... definitely a felony

Uncased loaded gun is the norm in PA. When I fish in NJ, I have to go threw my Truck extra careful so that I don't get thrown in Jail for having any of my handguns that are always loaded with hollow points in my vehicle.

Glad when I moved back from FL to back up north I chose PA instead of NJ, I still believe that all lawful people should still have the right to bear arms at all time and carry lawfully as it is their right.

New Jersey was over-run by liberal fascists and the Constitution simply no longer applies here.

As I interpret the law, you can carry a NJ-compliant firearm, unloaded, cased, and in a separate part of your truck than the ammunition directly to-and-from the range or WMA you're hunting.

Any deviation from this, such as stopping for a bite to eat or making a few casts in a roadside pond can potentially land you felony charges and really change your life.

I agree the fines should be higher, but it's not the amount of the fines that matters in the end, it's the likelihood of being caught, and that is unfortunately, very low.

Correct - and if stopped and questioned and can't reasonably prove you are directly on the way to or from the range, WMA, gun store, etc. you're going to jail...

Same applies to non-NJ residents entering the state

Lucky for me I had the receipt from the shooting range when I got pulled over Still had to wait forever for the cop to verify my ID card and receipt.
Last time I was in a Vermont grocery store I saw a few moms wearing holsters.
