Andy, I got a smoker which i use to smoke bass, and would have loved to smoked some trout. it is my understanding though from the sign at the RV launch that lake trout season is from Dec 1 to Sept 15 so I was out of season to keep the laker.

You are correct. Wasn't thinking about the closed season, good thing for the signage to remind us all of open and closed seasons as well as bag limits. Most of my fishing on those lakes is in the spring and summer.
