Default Sweetwater success CARP!!

Anyone who knows me knows I've been trying to get into carp fishing. I've gotten advice from nj sharpies (thank u catfishonthelake and mattsax) and tried every fishing hole in union county and the Passaic. Only to come up empty handed time and time again. After months of trying it started to get to me but finally I got my carp! While on vacation in Niagara, Ontario I finally connected. She was caught in a tributary of Lake Ontario. She ate corn with pineapple flavor and took off 50 yards of line on her first run. Not my first carp but first while targeting them. I'm hooked on carp fishing. Any of you sharpies want to guess the weight. I know for some people catching a carp is no big deal or not worth your time but it was a big deal for me haha

.

Congrats
I don't know about the weight, maybe ten pounds?
Next time measure the carp's length and girth and you can calculate its weight on a site like this:

I was just carp fishing this afternoon at Spruce Run. I'll post some pics later when I make a thread about it.

Carp fishing is fun. They fight hard, and they're relatively abundant. Best of all, I'm not competing with anybody for the resource. Some evenings the entire reservoir is filled with people casting lures at the shoreline or trolling herring for bass, -but I'm the only one fishing for carp.

I would say about 8 lbs for carp, and 230 for you.
