Default Thank you fish and game, for the Riegelville launch

Stopped by the new boat launch(Riegelsville) and it was a zoo, no less than 27 cars and only 7 trailers and 2 of them had to park on the grass outside the boat launch, don't know how many of those were personal watercraft, the lot was full of cars ( tubers and kayakers I assume). The kayakers were using the handycap parking for a staging area to give there renters instruction I assume.(right side of first pic, center of second, you could hardly get down the launch)
Did talk to GW up on the musky. Got checked again for my pa plates. He did say they would be addressing the boat launch issue and the rules are the same as for the Round Valley launch, fishing or hunting license in the window of your vehicle, hope they do it soon. The longer they wait the more angry people and the more chance it will stay the zoo, you known how things happen once a foots in the door. Us locals that use to go there can't find a parking spot. They paved it and took the country right out of it, next will be street light I suppose. Time to get the doggy stand up and running Eddie!!

No problem with the fishing kayakers who have every right to be there, but don't think there were any.

Damn, this is unfortunate info buddy. I'm dying to get back there. Sounds exactly like the state park I thought it would turn into. It's a great ramp with some flaws but now the serenity is gone. That's what I love about that area. I'd launch during the week occasionally and never see another boat in sight. The good old days, GRRRRRRRRRR! Where's the hotdog stand? Might as well get one in there now and make a profit. It will never be the same with all these HOOLIGANS running up and down making waves. I'm actually a little heartbroken to hear that a very productive fishing spot has been turned into a circus. I hope the rules get enforced sooner rather than later.

TIGHT LINEZ!!!!!!

Sounds like stewart state park by me. 1 car per designated spots every few acres apart. Its like looking for a spot at the mall. Mostly out of state cars because so few states stock pheasants. It sucks, most locals quit going.

Not as bad during the week Eddie. But it's been this way the last couple weekends. All us old timers always want to go back to the way it was. Hell I lived in hunterdon county before 78 was built. Partied in KLG all the time in the 60s. Learned to swim in lake solitue when Taylor Warton still owned it in the 50s. If you want it to stay country, you can't pave it. People will still enjoy it. They'll just have to try a little harder and they'll appreciate it more.

I'll take the tough parking and go during the week and on off hours compared to that old gravel washed out half @$$ ramp that use to be there. That ramp was down right dangerous and a pain to launch any size able water craft not to mention tough on the truck.

Bad news boys, wer're to late already, called FG today to ask about the boat launch and when something may be done. Apparently the officer I talked to was wrong. I was told this launch will be treated like the Belvidere launch and anyone can use it and no launch permit or fishing or hunting licence is required. Thanks again Fish and Game!!!

Did they put the floating dock that was in the parking lot in? I was there on memorial day. Place looked like Seaside hts. I got beat up by wakes setting my yak up. But there sure are some nice muskies in that stretch. Maybe some day I will be actually able to get a picture with one. Musky selfies are tough!

Talk about spot burn. That stretch isn't very big either without a jet or plans to get picked up down river for the yacks
