![]() Congrats on a pb. I didn't realize they even got that large in there. I might have to start targeting them when the bass aren't hitting.
I was there last night (11pm-12am), fishing the north boat ramp shoreline. My luck wasn't as well as yours but I did manage to see a coyote and two baby racoons. I was fishing the surface for about an hour with a popper and jitterbug and had 2 misses (smaller fish). I would have fished a bit longer, but a car pulled in the parking lot and a drunk sounding couple were going at it in their car, despite me being 50 feet away. I decided I'd make my exit at that point. I've had decent luck up there having fished there for years, much more luck in the early morning and from the boat. Usually, when I'm there fishing the shore, I'm just passing time. The best way to hit that place is from the water. I've had 2 musky hookups on light tackle while targeting bass there as well. I suppose those experiences play into my love with the place, besides there not being another spot like it around here, with that type of tree structure. But like most would say, it's a love/hate relationship with that place.
