Default Trinidad finish

I bought a trinidad 14 about 8 months ago. 2 months ago I noticed some flaking off the side of the reel I think it the e.i anti corrosive coating . Does anyone else have the promlem.

From the sound of it, something isn't right with the anodizing. At only eight months old the reel should still be under manufacturers warranty. So, they should make good, demand to be reimbursed for shipping costs as well. Some retailers will do a straight up exchange, provided you have the receipt. Don't know if you are still fishing or not. But, it shouldn't hinder the overall operation of the reel. Then send it back when you pack it in for the year.

anodization will not flake. It's dyed via electrolysis. It's probably some kind of coating over it flaking off.

It's not anodizing they have a clear coat on them ... if it gets nicked it peels off I put a call in with my sales rep from shimano and he has not got back to me yet ! Trying to help out the best i can !
