Default Pike question for somerset and surrounding counties

Can anyone out there shed some light for popular pike fishing places and techniques for Somerset County and the surrounding counties? Thinking about trying my luck out there.

The Passaic River starts in Central Jersey and makes its way through Northern Jersey...lots of great Pike spots, as the state stocks them here.

Spruce Run isn't too far from Somerset County and they're in there too.

Lure selection may vary by water (spoons & spinners). Although in the passaic, it may be cheaper just to throw live. I've gotten them on both.

Thank you to all that posted the useful information!! I think I've got the bait part down now, so on to where to exactly go. When people metion Passaic River to me I think of the section that runs through Stirling and just north of that. Where exactly is a great spot to go on the northern sections everyone metions?

Near Willowbrook mall is one area. Just drive around, you'll find some access.

Thumbs up Re: Pike question for somerset and surrounding counties

I enjoy the Millstone, some big holes if you drift down from Weston Canal road to 'point'.
Also just under RR Bridges of Raritan about 1/2 mile up from Point.
MIGHT even hook a Muskie
