Trout opener 2012
Went back troutin' today, after yesterday's great winter fishing I had limited time to try one other stretch which I had not fished due to high water earlier.
Worked out got two for three , first one nice 19" Bow, second 15"both hit well! Missed a third poor hit just a bump, switched lures no further hits! Not bad & the weather outstanding for early winter! Good start to 2012 season, once water goes down a little more I"ll be able to better work those runs, more effectively. |

Re: Trout opener 2012
I was up at my lake house for NYE, didnt bring my equipment, but ended up bringing my ultra light pole.
Hit one spot in the UFB for twenty minutes and hit a 16inch rainbow and a 15 inch brookie. Fished it for 10m afterwards without a bump and had to pack it in. Both fish hit nice. |

I like longer rod in high water to drift lure properly. My choice is what I feel is one of the best light line rods a available made by Phenix rod Co. Their elixir model rated for 1 to 4# line, great trout rod foe present water conditions ! |
