![]() Have 200 hp Evinrude. Had all carbs rebuilt over summer. starts / runs fine up to higher rpm. seems to lose power and or hiccups when on plane. Seems to burn excessive oil and fuel since the carb rebuilds. Changed fuel water seperator and plugs last weekend. same problem, Always add seafoam and or Startron with fuel fill. Any Ideas? Also appears to smoke more recently. Did have compression test done and was ok in July.

![]() First thing I would do is try running it from a fresh portable tank of fuel and that will determine if the cause is bad fuel.
If not that, I would have the carbs checked.

![]() Jerry, I thought the same thing. Can i disconnect fuel line at the fuel/water seperater and go straight to portable tank?

![]() Yes that is way to do it...
If that is not it I would definatley have it looked at. 2 strokers dont like the fuel too rich or too lean and running them while in that condition could cause further and permanent damage.
