Were u from fishing from shore or on a boat? I have fished that lake for many years...started there when I was about 7 and I am 36 now.

There are lots of nice coves towards the back of the lake...but u definitely need a boat to get there. To the right of the swimming area there is a huge lily pad patch that will start up when it gets warmer too. Boat is definitely better there...they stocked salmon there too but never seen one pulled from there.
