Default Prowler5 - Thurs., Aug. 17th, Fluke Report

Hey gang, well it wasn't a very good day for fishing today for us. We fished Monmouth Beach area today though I should have fished the Navy pier where I fished yesterday. It was sloppy and not good fishing. Plus we had the Coast Guard do an inspection on our boat while we were out there for a couple hours today. All good, just have to get a beacon sticker delivered and some other minor things. I was surprised because we just had Coast Guard inspection done in May. Anyway, they were very nice, but like I said, bad day for fishing for us. Not going to shape up tomorrow with the rain in the forecast. See you Saturday, 5:30 a.m. The pool fish is the only picture I took today... It's going to be a very busy weekend so my next report will be Monday afternoon.

I've never witnessed an inspection like that before. It seemed like they were floating next to you for half the day.

Thumbs up Re: Prowler5 - Thurs., Aug. 17th, Fluke Report

yes it was !! they got on the boat at 1100pm and left at 130pm. I had to stem the boat into those Sea's the whole time - it was like it was a regular inspection they do on land.... They literally checked everything on the whole boat

Yet you were recently inspected,, It seems the powers that be are more intent on harrassment then they are safety.. Sorry, but thats my take on it.. Yet so many very knowledgeable members here welcome this increased surveillance as a good thing.. I personally do not.. They knew who you are I'm sure, and knew you had customers and a business to operate, .. Couldn't it have been done at a more appropriate time I wonder?... I know i am in the minority, but I find it troubling reading these stories here all the time... bob
