Full Moon Low Tide

Wow! It looked like someone pulled the plug in most of the shore's waterways! If you were running a boat out of Shark River Hills, you would have had a hard time getting out at low tide today. I thought I saw a green channel marker sticking in the mud with no water around it. What happened to the dredging project?

Problem is they hired the second string and a severe lack of quality control, you should see the screen of what they missed and what they actually took! Very upsetting, but that I guess is what lake dredgers do in an actual navigational situation... pics poor to say the least in the most important/necessary thoroughfares in the river... Did I say that suck would be a nice word??

Is the dredging operation completed?

The Shark River dredging project risked losing FEMA funding if it did not move forward. Local and county government sent New Jersey DOT $1.9 million, roughly a quarter of the dredging project's overall $7.6 million cost. Federal regulations restrict dredging to July 1 to Dec. 31.

Guess that's what we should expect these days for $7.6 million! Based on this thread, sounds like the channel will fill in again before Memorial Day! Great job DOT!

they also didnt dredge the channel where its marked on every GPS.
The triangle on the south side of the main triangle is WAY west of the normal marked channel.
almost a straight line from the triple green wood buoy to the far SW side of the gas docks.

Hopefully they put the channel markers in according to the new channel.

but as with everything done there so far its def a CF

I found many spots on my structure scan which they missed. Another job well done, and money well spent.
