Default Kayak Fishing Fluke Bay or Rivers

Wow it's been a while since I have been on here. Recently got married about 2 months ago and need to get back on the water.

I am planning on heading out tomorrow on my kayak in search of some flatties. Since I haven't been out for fluke this year, are the rivers or bays producing better for small vessels up north this season? I have my usual spots, but don't have a solid strategy since I haven't been fishing consecutive weekends this summer.

Also, if anyone kayak fishes on here I would be happy to buddy up.

Thanks!

last week kayak fishing really took a dive.

I had been doing really well in the back of the bay - the reach channels - staten island sharrots pier.

Also had been doing well launching c beach or officers row at the hook.

But the water temps really shot up and both of those areas produced very little last weekend.

Jamaica bay..... or off Hoffman island... looking for cooler temps.

Thanks Torchee. Go figure the weekend I want to drop in, its been scorching hot all week long and water temps consistently rising. I'm usually out around the bayside of the hook area but haven't fully convinced myself if I want to cook my brains and lowrance tomorrow.

I've been out on that side of the navy pier a few times as well.

Haha thanks. Most normal people have work/life balancing challenges while most of us on here have fishing/life,wife,work balancing issues.

If it weren't for my fishing and the wife spending money we'd never fight

Jon Devin, Matt and I fished the deep water off the ammo pier in our yaks yesterday. The boats were pretty tight but we watched the a whaler right next to us pull a 7lber then a 12lber.

We didn't have a keeper but the fish were there.
