Default Delaware River Float Trip 6/25/16

I fished north of the Delaware Water Gap yesterday. I caught 22 smallmouth bass, 3 striped bass and a few rock bass. The smallies were from 9-14" and the stripers were 12-25". That bigger striper put up a nice fight on light tackle. All fish were caught on soft plastics.

Must've just kept following those shad, huh? It's rare to get a striper that size that far north, no? Great job! It looks like pics from 2 different days with the sweatshirt in the morning and the sun beating down in the afternoon. I'm really liking these morning temps.

I live 10 min from water gap and fish the big d on a regular basis. We catch numerous stripers over 30" north of water gap on a regular basis. This time of year big d is a night fishery due to all the tourist tubing, canoeing, swimming, etc. All big stipers we've caught on Delaware have been at night during day light hours we just catch 12-18" variety. Delaware is a awesome fishery if you take the time to learn and get off the beaten path to fish those untouched deep holes.

That's interesting. I grew up fishing it from Red Bank Battlefield (Gloucester County) up to the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge (skipping Camden of course) where it was mostly eel, catfish and the occasional striper. I just don't really hear/read reports of nice ones north of Trenton, the reports usually switch to smallies/walleye/trout. It's really nice to see/read people successful with them that far north

I've watched other anglers catch really big stripers from the park section, but I have no idea how they did it.

Now that little Pedro is off from PS112 for the summer, the numbers of visitors to the park has increased exponentially. The park areas will continue to get more crowded every weekend until after Labor Day.

You should move outta Jersey! This is definitely the wrong state to be living as a racist. Thought we talked about this already, http://www.njfishing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78229.
