Round Valley Wacky-Stacky
Got out for a few hours this morning. Only one other boat on the lake a few minutes before 5 AM when I arrived. FedEx is delivering the light for my kayak today which didn't do me much good when I arrived in the cloak of darkness this morning. Next time I'll paddle out in the dark.
Nothing big but managed 3 largemouths then got out of there as the weekend armada slowly but surely was making it's way onto the water and to be sure to get out of dodge before the real hijinks along the shore started. Couple of pics, including the death-struggle trying to get wacky-hook out of the boney mouth of a whopping 8 oz fish.

Re: Round Valley Wacky-Stacky
sounds like a nice morning on the res and 2 lmb for your efforts.avoiding the weekend yahoo googans can be a challenge, i have a 10' single seat old town canoe, i fish lake hopatcong and the boat traffic can be a handful to deal with.not to mention boats speeding around with no nav lites on at night.

I was planning on going to Duke Island for opening day meet & greet but unfortunately felt under the weather when I woke up.

Re: Round Valley Wacky-Stacky
Good job. What kind of light are you getting for the yak? I swear by the super nova less. Just need to have enough power to keep them going. |

Re: Round Valley Wacky-Stacky
I got the Railblaza Navilux 360 largely because I already went with the Starport mounts by Railblaza so it would give me some versatility on mounting options. I'm going to use a sideport mount to attach it to my milkcrate behind me as an initial plan but can swap it out for up front if I find it works better.
What kind of power source do you use for the Supernova, do you route it through a 12V being used for a fish finder? The Navilux works on three AAA's, it seems pretty bright but have to see how the juice holds up. Looking forward to getting out in the dark and trying my hand at topwater action.
