![]() Stopped by one of the ponds I fish early in the year for Bass, I could not believe all the carp sunning in the shallows. I really want to try to fish for these carp, some were HUGH!!! Since I have never tried it before, what is one of the best kinda baits should I use? Store bought, or homemade? And, are these carp feeding at all this time of year? Thanks, Rich

![]() Throw out half a can of whole kernel corn for chum, then use corn for bait on a small gold hook.

![]() You can usually sight cast them on ultralight with a number 8 snelled leadered hook no weight with a few corn kernels stringed on if you can get within 30 feet.

![]() Back when I fished for carp as a kid I used corn, dough balls and garden worms. Those lower Passaic River carp were delicious back on the 60's. They don't have the same flavor these days.
