Default Rvr

Sunday, wading the eastern shore, caught (Yozuri Magnet Minnow) & released a 20” Lake Trout.

Had 2 other hits. Shortly after the second one, a big fish splashed @ the surface.

Do Lakers typically move in shallow this time of year Mark?

The Lakers & the other trout can move into the shallows, as all of the reservoir's water is cold & oxygenated.

Unlike the summer, when the water temperatures stratify & there is only a deep layer of cold & oxygenated water that the trout are limited to.

Yesterday, two 15” rainbows.

Had another larger trout on, & saw it get off 10’ away from me. Had a couple of follows.

They’re out there!

Using a Yozuri & a spinner, landed 5 more 15 - 16” rainbows over the weekend. Had a few others on that got off & some hits.

Observed some trout dimpling @ the surface.

Well done, not easy getting them from shore. I've tried several weekends now without luck - followers and a couple hits but not able to sink the hooks. Then I hit the SBR on the way home and always seem to find a hole with an eager Bow

Still on the hunt for my first laker. RVR is a Challenging pond for me.

Most likely they do. I remember old In-Fisherman episodes where they caught these lakers in shallow water with white tubes and spoons when they spawn. Most likely my guess is they come shallow to spawn and then move out. Remember the water at Round Valley is so clear that the sunlight can penetrate really easily so they are going to spawn most likely in 12-16 foot of water my guess.
