Default Fluke in November along with Stripers

Fished yesterday with my cousin Carl and his friend Anthony. Both die hard fishermen. Started up near Keyport trolling and found little life. Sailed down around the Hook and found good life and the fleet. We started jigging and had a few hits and misses. Anthony then says "fish on" and tells us he got the hit bouncing the small diamond jig on the bottom. Well much to our surprise he pulls up a 12 inch fluke. About twenty minutes later he did it for the second time. We got a little tired of the fleet and went back to trolling. Ten minutes in and the port rod with the white bunker spoon goes off and the battle royal is on. Carl had the fish up to the boat three times and had the wind on leader on the reel when the fish pinned the tip of the rod over and dumped the spool. We never saw it but the rod was fairly heavy and the fight was nearly twenty minutes before the final head shake and she came unbuttoned. All I know is the fish was BIG. Ended the day at the tip of the hook drifting the rip and had an absolute blast fishing a top water plug and jigs. Never get tired of watching bass explode on a plug like that. Great day on the water.
