![]() I usually don't use bait but am going to try to slow troll for hybrids. What is the technic used? How far back, down, and how is it rigged? Doing it from a kayak. Have sonar and gps (no side imaging, yet!)Any help appreciate. |

![]() Live herring nose hooked at 1mph is my method. I use snap weights 2oz that gives me 2 to 1 on depth w a 50 ft lead from snap to bait. If i mark them suspended at 25 i will run like 40 to 45 ft down to be above the marks. Weight is speed dependent. On mm planer boards i use 1oz inlines 6ft ahead w same 50ft setback. Ive had no success w shiners at all and herring is pretty much done for the year dows has tiny bait left

![]() if you pedal your kayak you might be able to do it but if you paddle, you might be in for a huge pita.

![]() Thank you both for the info. I really appreciate it. @Chrisper - my buddy talked me out of getting a Hobbie kayak (peddle driven). Dam him! But I still do quite well trolling and paddling. Still working on being able to hook a herring and still have it live! |
