Default saturday snotrockets

Havent been out in a few weeks so I was up early, grabbed bait, and on the water by 630ish. Fish were not where I left them last time out, and not in any usual areas. Picked up a rat 16"er as I set the first line of the morning out and put it in the rocket launcher, but that was all for that side. Around 7ish I packed up and started search mode on side imaging. Finally saw some life around 830ish and set a 4 rod spread out to start with and see who was hungry, and within minutes I got a triple header of 2 nice ones and a schoolie. Saw Dale at the first spot and I reached out to him to head over to where I was as nothing was going on in the area I left earlier. I spent the next 3 hours working hard for each fish, one at a time. Had 2 idiots ducking behind me everytime I hooked one trying to get lucky, makes it real hard to loop around w a planer board spread, I wish ppl could find their own fish. I ended up w 7 solid fish, a rat and a schoolie, 2 were at 24" and one 25.5" the pool winner of the day lol. Got blazing hot by lunchtime I packed it in and saw Dale was just ahead of me at the ramp with Kelly, they got a few too like the Getanet crew always does. All in all a nice day on the water, but they didnt come easy even tho there was tons of bait and loosely schooled stripers all over the area........thanks for looking fellas

.

Looks like a great day Jimmy.

I wrote Dale and told him he should have gone out on Sunday, too. The hybrids were absolutely voracious. I wasn't even fishing for hybrids and they kept blitzing my kayak and attacking the bait. It's not easy to land a big hybrid on a wispy crappie rod. The largest one was like 18" and there was a whole bunch a smaller ones.

I don't even like hybrid stripers. I wish you hybrid guys would keep your fish under control.

Sunday evening I got caught up in the worst sun shower I have ever experienced. It started off as a sprinkle and then quickly grew into a torrential downpour with high winds. I thought I was in real trouble out there. I beached my kayak and sat in the treeline until it passed. The whole time the sun was shining on me from the west. It was really weird. I'm sure there must have been some other NJfishers who experienced this storm on Sunday.
