First Bass!
So I asked a couple of weeks ago for some advice from you folks - got some great advice but had to head out on vacation so couldn't try it out.
Anyway went out yesterday early evening and managed to pull out my first bass - my son also got one on his second cast! Zoom plastic worm was the answer! Anyway wanted to say thanks again for the advice - obviously helped a great deal - appreciate it. Now - grabbing the bass by the bottom lip seems mighty weird to me - I need to work on that.... Re: First Bass!
HOld on tight! Their mouths can't hurt you but the spine fins can and so can your hook!

Re: First Bass!
Congratulation to you both.
That's awesome. Ha ha I don't remember my first bass but I do remember my first bass from Farrington. Only reason I remember is because I gave my friend a black eye while celebrating. Come to think of it. Need a sign that says fishing with Andre can be hazardous to your health. Please stand back 50 feet. Andre |

To the OP, google "lip landing bass" and you'll find tutorials and videos on lip landing. Once you've done it a few times it's easy. Just be careful if you have a crankbait with 2-3 trebles on it. A quick shake of the head and you could be on your way to the ER. Probably best if you use a net for those until you get the hang of it. Get yourself a rubber net to avoid tangles and help get your fish quickly back into the water. Last edited by briansnat; 07-29-2015 at 11:59 PM.. |

Re: First Bass!
Way to go, NYRSimon!
Was just a matter of time. Keep throwing those plastics around downed trees, lily pads, or any other structure you see and you'll be knocking off PB's (personal bests) right and left. Don't be afraid to any puddle you see - big or small. I think I caught about 15 bass one day in an ornamental corporate pond that couldn't have been deeper than 4 feet at its deepest. Those overlooked spots are great places to just get some practice rigging up plastics in different ways (Texas rig, wacky rigged, etc.). Keep hittin' it! |

Re: First Bass!
Saw some stuff on google, but I have to tell you it seems might alien sticking your fingers in the mouth and holding on....hopefully will get plenty more to practice it on!
