Default Mulberry Beatdown

Noticed that the mulberries around are ripe so I figured I'd head out to where the carp were hanging out. Pretty much no easier way to catch a fish, but not getting out too much lately, I just wanted some action. I literally landed like 15-20 carp. Common, grass, & mirror, 1st time I landed all three in 1 day. Also a few straggler catfish when the berries were just sitting on the bottom. Threw some lures when the bite got slow & landed 2 small pike and missed out on another nice Lmb. Great day to be out there yesterday!!
Woke up early this morning to throw some lures and was able to land a lil 30"er really quik. Usually a pike in the 1st 5min, for me, means pack up & switch spots. But before work, I'll take em as quick as they wanna come!! No porn but the mirror, figured we don't get to see that many.

Essox,

Ahh the berry beat down. Glad I am not the only one to mess with them.

Nice mirror, love it.

Good day to be out yesterday for sure.

Thanks Dre! My fingers look like I was finger poppin Grimace, lol!! I just finished reading your post and might be able to help.
For keeping the berries on the hook better I always use a snap swivel. Put the eye of the hook through the meatier part of the berry, close to the stem. Then slip it onto your snap swivel, much better.
Also, for chicken livers. I sometimes carry dental floss with me to wrap around the livers once it's already on the hook.
If you try it lemme know. Hope this helps.

Love seeing those Carp...never caught one myself but don't target Carp at all so that makes sense...very cool fish. Congrats on a good outing.

Thanks my brother.

For berries those bastards became smart in my area. Last year I had no issues but this years they are starting to take small bites of the berries without trying to get the whole thing in their mouth. Pretty nifty of them. At least the fries worked. ROFLMAO.

And chicken livers are give and take. Usually use string but my hook was a bit small last night for them to stay properly.

I often thought about getting a tub of mulberries in my boat and floating the river.....you would probably catch 100's.......Capt. Dave
