Default Weekend wrap up -- 6/12 on the raritan; 6/13 on the Green Hornet

6/12/15: hit the Raritan hoping the rain would hold out, which it did. Fished from I think 11 Pm until about 230/300 am. Water was a touch high and a bit dirty, but I managed to put a catch together on soft plastics and plugs. Concentrated my efforts a bit below from where I usually fish, and it paid off. Had 3 rat stripers in like 6 or 7 casts on soft plastics in the middle of some fast water ranging from 12-16". Bait was busting all over, too. Then nothing for like 2 hours. Tossed the soft stuff a bit more a nailed a nice lil' channel and easily one of the ugliest rainbow trout I've ever seen. It swiped a 3.75" swim bait and took the hook right in the cheek. Switched to a plug and caught another channel in some fast stuff. First set of stripes for me on the mighty RR. No eyes were to be had, but thats fine...

6/13/15: get a call from Mikey Topaz. "Wanna go?," he says. I say, "Probably, let me see what's going on with the lady and kids first." Sure enough I get the homestead squared away and off I go. Pull up behind Mikey around 1045, we hold off for his buddy Joe around 1100-1115, and we head off. Eyes and stripes on the menu tonight. 1st fish...Joe with a 10" LMB. Wrong menu? Lol. I followed him up with a rock bass lol, a near keeper eye and a small hybrid. We make a lil' move and I nail a solid brid that was FAT as hell. Pretty much fought it straight up and down. We shimmy again and I'm launching my plug to the way back of a cove and get rocked again. Fish buries in the weeds but I managed to pull it free. Prob an 18" fish...felt bigger with the 12 lbs of weeds added! I managed another small one after that. We make another move off some rocks. Plug gets clobbered again and I pick up a nice thick 23" eye. Make a few more moves and tuck into some more boulders. Mikey picks up a nice brid, 20" if I recall correctly. Shortly after that, I picked up another 20" walleye. Make one more move and Mikey nails a small eye. That was all she wrote. At 300-315AM, someone hit the switch and no life was seen or heard. Crazy... Off the water at 4, home by 510am... shot to sh*t lol...

Good times were had...

Here's the porn.

Hahahaha! Hilarious!! That's why I love this site!

Dale and I planned to go out fri night but he pulled the plug on the trip due to uncertainty with the weather. Not fun getting caught in a t storm while out on the water in the dark! Pretty sure he was playing host to a party Saturday night, too. I'm in the clear!
