Default Carp-R-Us

So,

With another branch of my company being opened recently, my boss decided that sleep is overrated and frankly I don't need it. That being said hours became longer while stretching my limit of endurance. Only plus is my boss decided that it was my time to join the 21st century and provided me with a new phone. Still not a smart phone but pretty darn close to it. Damn.

Anyways to let off some steam I decided to head over to my local go to spot which is boiling with carps right now to the point where you can even try getting them from the shore with your bare hands.

Turns out those sucker are becoming smarter with every year. As usual bait of choice (drumroll please) ......... mulberries. As soon as I figure out how to work my darn phone and take videos you will see how I am not kidding and those darn carps just eat it like crazy.

So off I went and it was one hell of the fun fighting those fishes on the light set up. 8 hook ups that landed me 3 fish + close to 50 or so misses on my part being to slow and well fish being smarter this year.

All fish released to enjoy the rest of the summer.

Andre.

P.S. Fish porn will be available after I figure that stupid phone.

.

I was planning on doing some carp fish this weekend, too.
I bought a can of sweet corn, but I got hungry and the only food in the house was beer, cat food, and that can of sweet corn.
I'll have to buy another can before I go out tomorrow.

I am surprised you didn't go for cat food. You should use it for carp as well.

Or catfish

What kind of rig are you using with the Mulberries? The only time I will actually give the Carp a shot is during the "Mulberry spawn" and it's the only time I've actually caught one while targeting them. All my other Carp have been freak by-catches. It seems they were attracted to the sound of the berry hitting the water and would be more interested in hitting it then as opposed to it sitting on the bottom for a while. What do I know though, I am just a fish-with-teeth guy lol .

Honestly nothing fancy at all.

Spot where I fish has trees growing on the bank and you can literally see carp swim up to them and grab low hanging berries.

4lbs test line with a weighted bobber and no leader. That's it. Nothing else.

I noticed the white berries working the best but pretty much any color of them will do. Those I target just for fun since they take of like crazy and on a light line and rod ton of fun. When going for bigger ones in Clinton are I use corn dough balls of the bottom with a bottom rig.

Sincerely

Andre
