Default Local pickerel fest

So I woke up today and decided nope not going to work today and called out. After waking back up, I loaded up the boat and hit the local pond. First shiner hits the water and bam. Good little fight, get it to the boat and its finally a bass from this place. Reach over to lip him and of course he spits it. Lool at the guys on shore and say you saw it so it counts. Floated around for a few hours hitting pickerel after pickerel until my 2 dozen were gone. Landed probably 14 or so picks. Caught a couple that were bigger than usual and probably my personal best at just over 16''. Another good day, but still looking for some bigger fish. Gonna have to broaden my search. Also had a couple other days I didnt update bringing my streak into the 9 straight without the skunk. Thanks guys and tight lines.

Thumbs up Re: Local pickerel fest

I look at the photos and what comes to mind is the old saying "her hands were so small they make anything look big"
Nice fish, you got hands like damn catchers mitts !!!

Ryan,

Soon every pickerel in a state will know your name. Glad you came out bro. Still you should of taken a trip out to Spruce and messed around with us.

Food was great, beer was cold, fish was jumping.

Good day to be out.

Andre

Gotta love the ole pickerel "FEST" or as I term it a pickerel pile up!
I seem to catch more in the spring targeting LMB than any other time of the year. Nothing like an explosion off a pad than an aggressive pickerel. While often missed, the excitement of this impressive, and when hooked the battle begins. Have landed some monster pickerel in NJ, but unhooking them can be a challenge and have paid the price often for getting my fingers too close to their mouth.

Thanks guys. Yeah I figured it was a little early but i couldnt help but throw a little through the pads to see if I could get some explosions. Had to swipes on the landing but no real commits. Been having some great days so cant really complain, but I wish these picks would give some bass an opportunity at the shiner!
