Default New addition!

Went to Paddlesport in Somerset. Thought how it would be cool to have a single seater instead of dragging the tandem out every time when alone. Then I saw the Vapor 10 Angler at the Old Towne booth. Did a little research got them to give me a end of last day show price and BOOM! In the truck it went. Maiden voyage was in the D&R after dinner last night. No fish love but was a nice float.

On a side note, as I got home with it, there were two guys launching kayaks from the SBB locks. You guys on here? Any luck yesterday? The D&R has shown no love to me yet this year!

Nice yak, love that storage behind your seat! I took mine out 2 weeks ago for a shakedown float.

did you ever use a sit on top? i've used both and i went with the sit on top (this was years ago), mostly because i launch it into the surf sometimes and a sit in would get swamped. I've thought about getting a nice light kayak like that (how much does it weigh?) but i guess i'll have to learn my lesson by blowing out my back or shoulder lifting the heavy jon boat or sot tandem kayak haha.

Chrisper,

My tandem sit in (Old Towne Twin Heron Angler) weighs about 65 lbs (13'6") and this little guy is 49 Lbs (10') and fits perfectly in my 6' bed on the diagonal. It is a little less stable than the tandem but it is also almost 4' shorter! I am more of a calmer fresh water guy. I live right across the street from the D&R and want to pursue a few reservoir and lakes as well.

my tandem sit on top weighs around 75-80 ugh...but my jon boat weighs even more and that's what i've been lifting to my roof rack over the past year haha. you have the right idea getting a small light one for calm water! i must say though that heavy kayak i have is totally stable. i've taken waves to the side and not flipped. you can fall out if you're not careful but the thing will NOT flip haha.
