![]() Luckily just one person in need in the rescue: Stay SAFE
NORTH BRUNSWICK – Police and firefighters rescued a man Tuesday on the ice in the middle of Farrington Lake. According to police, two people were in kayaks on the lake around 2 p.m. One of the kayaks capsized and the man got onto the ice in the middle of the lake. Through a joint effort of police and firefighters, the man was rescued and given medical care on shore, police said. Police said part of the lake is frozen. It is not know where the canoe entered the water. Police from North Brunswick and East Brunswick responded, along with members of the North Brunswick Fire Department and Rescue Squad and the Brookview Volunteer Fire Company. |

![]() That seems like an interesting situation. I've been on the ice, in my kayak, and in the water(wading) this week, but not like that lol. Glad everyone involved is okay.

![]() So my friend was the one who flipped his kayak and I was with him. He was luckily able to pull himself onto the ice to lay on it. I couldn't get his kayak to flip back over and the shoreline was pretty far away, so I called rescue.
A lady ended up bringing an extra kayak out and the police gave me some rope to tow the 2nd kayak out to him and he was able to get in it. Then we just rowed to shore. Was pretty crazy, very windy day too. Luckily it was warm so once he got onto the ice he was not too cold. |

I guess that sounds better for the police than the actual story of "the police gave his friend some rope and had his friend tow him back to the shore." Glad everyone was okay. |
