First off thanks NOAA for another sterling job with the forecast. Wind never backed off and it was snotty 4-5 feet confused and tight. We pounded our way out there and the captain found porgy paradise. We picked nice sized sea bass among the porgies. Only thing that would shut down the porgies was a shot of bluefish. Could have had a boat limit of porgies if we weren't trying to shake them off after a while. I even started throwing back any porgies under 14" as no one really wanted more than a 128 qt full.
Think we wound up with about half a limit of nice sea bass along with some shots of small blues and one big banded rudderfish. I had 9 sea bass and at least a limit plus of porgies. We got in late because we were going head on into the "light winds and diminishing seas" and captain decided to slow down so our internal organs stayed in the correct places. Thank you Captain Dennis and mate Reelnauti who filleted more fish today than most of the summer.
