Default Frosty EYE-cicles last night: 11/14-11/15/14

Was dozing off on the couch when I got a lil jolt and sprung up. Got dressed (heavily) and was out the door by 10:00-10:15 pm and on my tidal stretch by 11 pm. Temp gauge on my car read 28 degrees. It felt like 28 degrees lol. Managed to stay toasty aside from my fingertips--many thin layers + neoprene waders kept me comfortable. Didnt go nuts this time with the lures. Added a lil' scent to the soft plastics I threw and it paid off quickly. 3rd cast BAM! Fish on! Decent fight, played it easy and landed a solid fish. Taped out at 24.5". CPR'ed then reapplied my scent (ball juice lol) after checking my knot and leader. All good. Continued working the bank, spotting glowing eyes here and there. About 25-30 min later, same lure, casting into a back-eddy, I click my head lamp on to check my lure for leaves and on the edge of my light's cone I see a set of eyes about 8 feet in front of me. Pitched the bait a bit past and up current of where I saw the eyes. A few twitches and pops then BAM! Fish on! The fish darted out towards some fast water which was good bc it got me around a tricky rock shoal. Played it easy again and got her to my feet. Another solid fish taping out at 25.5". CPR'ed and repeated the aforementioned checking. Gave it another 30 min or so and headed out with cold toes, cold fingertips, a runny nose, and a sh*t-eatin' grin on my face as the snow briefly pelted me. Fish porn below. I refuse to let the rod n reel season go lol... Catch em' up!

And thanks guys. It's nice to be rewarded sometimes. It makes the countless hours of effort well worth it!

you look like a seasoned walleye pro to me! little Vaseline on the rod guides before the trip will help wick the water off them so they don't freeze as easily!
