Goodbye 100 sq....till next year!
Had my last (only)canyon trip of the season thurs to fri at Hudson.Been in Maine catching bugs.We stopped 2 miles short of the tip when we saw some flippers and a tuna bust. By the time we got the spread out and back around they were gone.Moving on we ran to elbow and started trolling twords square. No action except saw eyeball explosion between us and anchored party boat/but found our home for the night. Sitting 60 ft from hi flyer getting long drop ready so we don't drag the mans gear/ well known charter boat sneaks in and tries to grab our home..I'm thinkin when you see a fellow in the bow uncoiling yellow Polly next to hi flier your intentions are obvious( especially when it's bumpy)...so capt guns it /had hairball tie up instead of safe and easy. Thanks Jerk Off-I know your reading this...not like there wasn't another 100 yards down the line.Guess what I heard about you all is true...Anyway we got a Bird as the sun set... And I'm thinking off to the races- blue dog races that is/ must have caught 15/20 during night- and not the same one( I was marking them :-) stopped throwing chunks to get them to go/ then get nice yellow to boat side- 50 lb leader touched swim platform= goodbye. Also had a sword jump off- had line down at 300 and saw glow stick go airborne off stern...Reel like crazy but only came tight to squid tennis ball...got on the troll at dawn with eyeball on mind but wasn't to be-only trolled a few more lft and 3 Mahi.... Trolled all the way back to tower...no life and seas building- head to the barn! Great last trip! Some tasty steaks and Hi Seas adventure...the stuff we keep going back for :-)
