Default Pending State & World record Tilefish caught

I got a call from my buddy Andy who was fishing on the Anglers sister ship the V today & offered me some fresh caught yellowfin how can I resist that. By the way the boat got 61 YFT today & 1 Longfin as well. Pictured is a 23.1 lb. Blueline Tile that was caught on Monday that is a Pending State & World record. The fish was caught by Mr Park pictured is the proud Capt. Jeff.

Curious. WIth tile fish like canyon tuna likely caugh 60 to 100 miles off shore, how do you know which state the record is for? SInce you are near no particular state? Seems like of arbitrary.

First of all that's a Beast of a Blueline! I've seen one as big as 20 lbs caught by my bud Mike D. and another 20 +/- caught on an electric and a few in the 18 lb mark. If Bluelines grew as big as Goldens, OMG! They do bite definitely and when they feel the hook, they fight from the bottom to the top and on the deck too! lol

The state record is decided from where the boat is docked as for the WR, you could have that but not the state record. Like I still have the NJ record for the Golden but my bud Angelo has the WR. He caught it on our friends boat in Md. but didn't register it for the Md. record just the IGFA. That's how I understand it.... Dennis

Nice fish.

I wonder if it got Mr Park to crack a smile. First time for everything.
