Last weekend

Got out to the lake for the first time in a while and the first time out since my Delaware trip that was a bust for cats but did catch my first striper. Just big enough to fit in my hand but still one knocked off the list. Started an hour before dawn and tried some top water with no luck. No luck on shiners either and didn't see any of the many guys on boats hook up so moved on to another spot. Tried some spinnerbaits and cranks but still no luck. Finally a small bass on a shiner but still the only action I could get. It was pretty busy on the water all day with boaters. Only noticed one of the lot pull one in. I know it usually slows down at the lake this time of year but was hoping with the beautiful weather we've been having the fish would be a little more active than usual in august.
