Captain,

Great job catching quality bass which most of us thought were long gone. Did the guy who drew the shortest straw have to take the fillets from that last striper!

The bite was red hot for us again. We let a lot of bass go. I did not keep count but we had a blast! Andy was hot and also landed the biggest shown in the picture. It was 33 and change.
We catch stripers every summer but this run is exceptional. I truly believe having the bunker around in large numbers will hold the post spawn bass longer in our area. We wormed them years ago in August and the weakies would be mixed in with them. Wouldn't it be great to have a summer time fishery with bass and weakfish? Sure beats that long trip to Montauk. From what I hear Mass. does not have a good bass run going on this summer. Could this be a changing thing or is it suppose to be this way. My dad and grand father told me they caught them all summer in the old days. Only time will tell but there here now so enjoy it. Next week could be a horse of a different color.
